ME!!! Today (maybe technically yesterday by the time I finish the story) Kev and I went out shopping and boy did we shop! I think I got a years worth of workout just shopping! LOL We went to 3 Canadian tires and a Shoppers Drug Mart (Then Kal and I went out to 4 more stores!!!!).

CTCanadian Tire #1. We were fricking in there for over 2 hours! I think we must have looked at every little thing in the entire store. We looked at Christmas stuff and kitchen stuff and exercise stuff and lighting fixtures and tools and camping stuff and tools again and so-on. We checked out a few exercise items, but knowing that all the CTs carry some different products and sometimes at different prices we decided to go check out some other ones as well. We bought little gifts, stocking stuffers , salt, 2 aloe plants and a new stock pot …

Funny (but scary) story: So on Monday, I made a Turkey; no special reason other than I had a turkey. It was a fucking amazing meal if I do say so myself. The Turkey was cooked perfectly, super juicy and a perfectly browned skin. Creamy mashed potatoes, peas, squash, carrots, beets, homemade cranberry sauce and Graves Chow Chow! I am drooling.turkey-dinner Anyhoo, after eating I started my bone broth (in case you don’t know, bone broth can take 2-3 days to cook; you bring it to a boil and then drop it to a simmer for a couple days). I have done this dozens of times and never have I had an issue so I am blaming the stupid flat/glass top stove. I put the huge ass pot of water and turkey bones on to boil and as soon as the bubble started to erupt I put it on low/simmer and went to bed. I woke up a couple times throughout the night and could smell the broth filling the air with its rich and savory aroma. My alarm went off at 7 to get Kal up for school, I sleepishly crawled out of bed and like a zombie looking for brains headed for the bedroom door. Ever so quietly as to not wake Kev, I opened the door … and Whoosh!!! The whole house was filled with suffocating smoke. I don’t even recall running down the stairs, I went so fast. I ran into the kitchen, opened the back door, took the pot off the stove and set it outside. I went around the house and opened all of the doors and windows before heading back to the kitchen, out back to uncover the charcoal that was once turkey bones. As the smoke left the house it dawned on me … Why the fuck did the smoke alarm not go off!!??? Enter anxiety attack. I spent a few moments calming myself before I went to inspect the alarm. It was hard wired into the ceiling and the light was on… wtf! focus-on-the-good-650x812The only thing we could come up with was that it may be wired into the alarm system that no longer works. Well Kev and I went out and bought smoke and CO detectors that morning! There was no way I was spending a night knowingly without a smoke alarm… FFS … So I needed a new stock pot, that one was ruined. So my positive spin … There was no fire. We woke up alive. We got new smoke detectors. It was beautiful out, so we did not freeze when opening all the doors and windows. Oh and I got a new stock pot!

Ok. Back on track So we bought all the stuffs at CT #1 and headed off to CT#2. Nothing was bought at this one but we found that 1 piece of exercise equipment that we saw at the first CT was a bit more expensive here. ick! BUT they did have another piece that was cheaper … ooooh, that is promising! We walked around a bit, I spotted a few items that would bring me back later (couldn’t buy them with Kev around (hehe))christmas-gifts-background_23-2147703684. We weren’t here nearly as long as the first one maybe 20-30 minutes and off we scurried to CT #3 (actually we hit a shoppers first because I had to get Kally a bus pass and picked up a couple little gifts while there…then progressed to the final destination (for Kev and I, today).

Oh Boy! Oh Boy! here it comes!! CT #3. In we go! we headed straight to the exercise equipment to scope out inventory and prices. Ooooh they had all the pieces that we wanted or were thinking about in one location! BUT uh oh … the prices were significantly higher. So we started to discuss … “well if we did decide to get them, we could get that at CT#1 and the other at CT#2, but we would have to pay 2 deliveries.” Hmmm. “We could get them both at CT #2, hand-drawn-idea-concept_23-2147532419but one of them was $50 more, but we would save on delivery” think think think … enter light-bulb! “Hey! Doesn’t Canadian Tire price match? I wonder if they do it with their own stores…they must!” ellipticalAfter a bit of an explanation about the pricing, the sporting goods employee confirmed they will indeed price match! So now the decision… do we get them? “What do you think Kev?” “I am good with it if you will actually use them” “I will! I promise!” “Let’s do it!” We wrote down the numbers and headed to customer service to pay and set up delivery! O My Gawd! I am so excited, I cannot even contain myself! Merry fricking Christmas to me!!! Done and Done! I now own an elliptical and a rowing machine and I couldn’t be happier! Have I mentioned rowerhow much I love him … not because he buys me stuff, but because he makes me happy. He has been wanting me to get more active for a while now (the illnesses have diminished my energy level and muscle mass) and that, I believe is why he had no problem getting them. He wants me to be healthy and happy and I love him for it!

Did I mention that every $100 (before tax) transaction that happened today resulted in a $20 gift card that can be spent/used in the next 10 days!! We have bunches of free dollars for CT bought stocking stuffers!! Woot!!

Now the dilemma is … Do I put them on the main floor where they will look silly, but I will actually use them, or do I put them in the obvious place, the basement, where they will be more suited, but I might not get as much use out of them …. ps… they are not portable nor store-able, they will stay where assembled.
